Welcome to Our Blog.
Shropshire Wildlife Trust is committed to conservation of two main types. The first is the conservation of our countryside, its rolling hills, peat bogs and ancient woodlands. The second is the conservation of the young naturalist. Nature needs children- to splash in puddles, get muddy and to catch creepy crawlies. These rare young people are our future decision makers and we need them to be aware of how awe-inspiring, delicate and exciting, “outside” can be.
Our activities give children and young people an opportunity to learn by experiencing Shropshire’s wildlife and wild places first hand. It challenges them to think and make informed decisions about their own role in shaping their environment. By helping them gain the knowledge and skills to understand and care for the natural world we hope to sow a seed that will grow with them throughout their lives.
All our activities work towards your National Curriculum requirements and are planned in consultation with the class teacher. Students of all ages are abilities are catered for in a safe and friendly environment.
We offer additional support to teachers through training days and in-school projects, as well as assistance in setting up and running after-school clubs.

I think the blog looks excellent. I love the variety of topics, use of photos and audio material. I must have taken ages to put together, but I’m sure lots of people are going to find it very useful.
